ISLAMABAD – Pakistani authorities on Sunday arrested a British nationwide in a bid to smuggle 1.75kg heroin in his sneakers at Benazir Worldwide Airport, Islamabad.
In response to airport officers, the accused recognized as Asif Khan, was en path to England on flight PK 785. Throughout a search, the heroin was recovered from his sneakers. The accused was detained by the Airport Safety Drive (ASF) and later handed over to Anti Narcotics Drive.
On January 15, the customs officers arrested a person from Islamabad airport who was making an attempt to smuggle medicine value virtually Rs15 million to United Arab Emirates (UAE). The person recognized as Kennedy Brian, a resident of Lahore, was making an attempt to smuggle 1,635 grammes via his sneakers.
On January 10, a Czech lady was arrested from Allama Iqbal Worldwide Airport, Lahore, after she tried to smuggle 9kg heroin.
